Job Summary
This Operational Risk Governance AVP role reports into the Head of Operational Risk Governance Strategy. This position is responsible for ensuring that the Operational Risk program can effectively identify, assess, quantify and manage the Operational Risk profile for the enterprise, and that such activities are appropriately described in policies and procedures. The individual in this position will manage the overall approach for managing key operational risk governance initiatives.
Essential Functions
•Manage Operational Risk Management annual Program Assessment process including:
-Participate in Program Assessment planning, identify and document tasks, provide estimate on time and effort
-Work as ORM area-lead for ORM sub-type programs (15 programs), coordinate with Risk Governance team, FLoD, SLoD and Entities assessment owners; facilitate ORM program assessment and ensure assessment is conducted as designed
-QA and QC assessment worksheets for ORM sub-type programs 
-Work with ORM SMEs and perform First Level Review & Challenge for ORM sub-type programs 
-Facilitate workshops and document Area-Level review and challenge for ORM sub-type programs 
-Aggregate ORM assessment results
-dentify and document ORM sub-type programs specific risk and controls 
-Build and update management status reports
-On monthly basis, work with reporting team to create report to monitor status of action plans including facilitate data sourcing and collection; and validate data accuracy
-Document, maintain and refresh process and controls associated with reporting
•Manage program to develop, align and implement standard framework for conducting risk assessments across the enterprise as part of the risk alignment project.
•Manage process for maintaining, enhancing and overseeing operational risk policies, procedures and standards.
•Manage Global Control Self Assessment process from front to back, including coordinating responses from the regions.
•Manage process for executing convergence of outstanding operational risk policies, procedures, and standards.
•Develop lessons learned and root cause analysis standards for identifying enhancements to governance activities.
•Act as primary point of coordination with IAA and regulators on behalf of ORM


•Bachelor's Degree required
•5+ years related experience in leading/supporting information risk assessments
•Understanding of control and risk management concepts and knowledge of the operational aspects of the Operational Risk business
•Shown functional knowledge of Operational Risk management technology, specifically GRC tools such as Archer, Open Pages
•Knowledge of the financial services industry and its regulations / laws
•Knowledge of risk management policies, methods, standards, processes, governance models, and industry standard risk analysis approaches
•Knowledge of current industry trends in Operational Risk Management
•Able to be a leader, a valued partner, and authority for Operational Risk governance, policies, libraries, analytics & reporting, and issue management
•Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset, able to work-through complex issues and work towards resolution
•Able to adjust with changing priorities and handle internal and external partner expectations
•Able to use appropriate judgement in promptly bringing up matters to management as needed
•Strong attention to detail and focus
•Collaborate well with internal and external partners.
•Strong MS Office skills (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint Programs) along with strong verbal and written communication skills
