Job Summary

The FFI Production Control Tower is a senior position reporting to FFI Onboarding & KYC Manager within the First Line of Defense Control Office.The over-all purpose of the job includes:


  • Management support inclusive of reporting
  • FFI Onboarding & KYC Subject Matter Expertise
  • Facilitation of process changes 

Primary Responsibilities

(50%) Management Support

  • Deputy to the FFI Onboarding & KYC Manager

  • Monitor Operational metrics such as SLAs and Quality and put strategies in place to ensure thresholds are within risk appetite

  • Drive and maintain escalation protocols

  • Monitor and lead ongoing capacity analysis and implement strategies to prevent and address backlogs

  • Track and ensure completion of action items for internal issue management platforms

  • Assist in staff recruitment for onboarding team

  • Assist in assessment of Knowledge, Skills and Abilities and resolve training gaps

(30%) FFI Onboarding & KYC Subject Matter Expertise

  • Lead and drive process changes and manage updates to desk top procedures and manuals

  • Thought Leadership: Play a key role in multi-disciplinary teams to address new business initiatives and technology enhancement projects

  • Conduct training to the onboarding and KYC production team on any procedure update

  • Develop strategic partnerships with other team leaders including QC, QA, Lines of Business and AML/KYC Financial Crimes teams.

  • Represent the team in internal audit and external reviews inclusive of collection of testing evidence

(15%) Reporting to Control Office Management

  • Regular communication and reporting to Control Office management concerning the status of the work queues, results of the quality control reviews, identified trends, and the status of KYC files.

  • Direct Liaison to QA and Oversight Units to discuss identified trends and develops appropriate resolutions, as well as maintains an awareness of changes to their operational processes.

(5%) Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and/or minimum of 5 years of work experience with specific emphasis on BSA/AML in the financial services industry.Related professional certifications are highly preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience, knowledge of human resources and personnel management processes
  • Experience in Client Onboarding and/or AML operations
  • Ability to think critically under pressure and deliver sound judgment
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the aptitude of independently performing complex or varied tasks, such as coordinating and analyzing large amounts of multifaceted data.

  • Firm understanding of bank products and services

  • Knowledge of various types of customersand ability to analyze customer activities, profiles and source information.

  • Mature approach with excellent and influential communication skills (verbal and written) to facilitate frequent interactions with internal customers, management and key stakeholders

  • Ability to recognize risks and make decisions based on sensory data or known guidelines

  • Solid knowledge of KYC/AML

  • Strong time management, prioritization, work organization and multi-tasking skillswith a drive for efficiency, accuracy and risk management controls

  • Proficiency in MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
