Essential Functions:

  • Ensure timeliness, understanding, and completion of requirements and initiatives related to overall project management, which may include but are not limited to; coordinating with key stakeholders; revising and updating project plan(s); reviewing and updating policies and procedures; coordinating materials and submission to central project management and internal governance, as needed.

  • Manage program to develop, align and implement standard framework for conducting risk assessments across the enterprise as part of the risk alignment project.

  • Manage process for maintaining, enhancing and overseeing operational risk policies, procedures and standards.

  • Maintain, with input from risk subject matter experts, the methodology for all in-scope projects

  • Provide or facilitate independent review and validation for first line of defense deliverables and risk related deliverables.

  • Manage process for executing convergence of outstanding risk policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Act as the SME in the review and challenge of larger projects such as enterprise wide deployments and integrations or internal initiatives

  • Provide strong stakeholder management to ensure successful outcomes to projects and initiatives

  • Drive SLOD project and initiative deliverables, communication, and stakeholders sign-off Develop lessons learned and root cause analysis standards for identifying enhancements to governance activities.

  • Act as primary point of coordination on behalf of MUSA ORM.on risk alignment projects


  • Ability to build collaborative and productive working relationships, consensus and a sphere of influence with business teams and others across all functions.

  • Team player who can excel in a fast paced, challenging environment with a strong desire to continuously improve and learn new things.

  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written are essential.

  • Strong critical thinking skills and problem-solving mindset, ability to own and be accountable for key governance initiatives and drive forward.

  • Typically requires 10-15 years of experience in the financial industry, most in risk management

  • Strong working knowledge of banking products and services

  • Significant experience interfacing with banking/financial services industry regulators

Education requirements:

  • BA or BS degree required.

  • Advance degrees or certification preferred.
