Reporting to Trust Operations Supervisor or Manager, the Trust Operations Specialist III is responsible for performing multi-function trust operational processing for a specialized unit within Trust Operations. This position is cross-trained on one to two additional functions and can serve as support for other staff within the unit.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform Specialized Trust Operational work on one or more of our core systems Protects the interests of the bank and our client by accurately posting specialized work on one or more of our core systems in a timely basis.

  • Work is high volume and large dollar value.

  • Frequently interacts with both internal co-workers and external counter parties to receive and deliver instructions for completing and properly processing work.

  • If instructions are not clear or insufficient as to detail, identifies the problem and proactively resolves such with the instructing party.

  • Independently research and resolve processing issues Identifies unit's processing errors or potential processing issues, determines and implements corrective action and communicates the impact of these actions to the appropriate parties involved.

  • Performs system balancing work and monitors own work for accuracy.

  • Research and Respond to client inquiries Responds to our client inquiries regarding their work in a timely, clear and appropriate manner.

  • Provides sufficient details to answer questions and identify errors or potential issues.

  • Perform analysis on area's functions, provide input on opportunities to enhance unit's processing Reviews unit's processing routines and procedures, methods and flows of communication, and reporting tools and provides input to management with recommendations that would have a positive impact on efficiency and client service.

  • Risk Management Focus on the Bank's soundness through a demonstrated knowledge of and a sensitivity to the current regulatory environment.

  • Recognize and proactively address risk (including but not limited to those associated with Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering, consumer compliance and fair lending).

  • Actively manage the control environment to avoid losses (including compliance with wage and hour policies), and ensure proper safekeeping of bank and customer assets.

  • Actively support and ensure data accuracy and integrity for their responsible area.

  • Effectively manage and proactively address risk in change activities.


  • Very strong understanding of securities processing and trust banking or brokerage industry.

  • Advanced computer, mathematical and communication skills.

  • Strong ability to work independently.

  • Typically requires college degree and 5 plus years of technical experience.
