Summer Associate Program Overview
The Risk Management Summer Associate Program at MUFG is designed to help you learn how we maintain a disciplined approach to identifying, assessing, managing, reporting, and mitigating risks.
Our 10-week Summer Associate Program begins in early June and is structured to provide rising seniors with hands-on experience and business exposure in the world of Risk Management. You will be placed in a specific group that allows you to concentrate and quickly develop the skills and knowledge required to become an integral part of the team. You will work alongside MUFG professionals at all levels who will serve as your instructors and mentors. Interns also have the opportunity to attend learning sessions led by Americas Risk Management professionals in all of the Risk Disciplines at the bank. Our program is designed to help you experience just what it’s like to work within the risk management organization.
You will be assigned to one of the following Risk Management Business Units for the duration of the program.
Quantitative Risk Control (EUC Calculator and Model Risk Management)
The Quantitative Risk Control Summer Associate Program offers the exciting opportunity for students to contribute directly to the longstanding success of MUFG’s Americas Risk Management (“ARM”) division. As a Summer Associate, you will be joining the Quantitative Risk Control team to support the Bank’s Model and End-User Computing and Calculator (“EUCC”) Risk Management program.
Assignments may include but are not limited to: assessing the categorization and inherent risk rating of EUCCs, review testing results and assist in special projects.
Support & Guidance
Your assigned mentor/manager will provide goals and professional development guidance and conduct performance reviews as a commitment to our summer associates. You will also have the opportunity to network with employees across different business groups and at all levels of the organization. In our open and inclusive environment, senior colleagues will know who you are and will see the work you do. You will leave with a better understanding of the world of risk management.
At the end of the program, the opportunity exists to receive an offer for full time employment upon graduation. This offer may be within another area of risk management than your internship assignment.

I'm so proud to have worked for a company that supports inclusion and diversity. It's not just a claim; I've witnessed it in practice.
Claire M., Corporate, Investment Banking & Markets Summer Analyst
One of the most meaningful aspects of my experience as a Summer Analyst was the willingness of leadership and colleagues to spend time sharing their career learnings with our cohort.
Arjun T., Financial Management Summer Analyst
My career at MUFG started as a Summer Analyst in the Global Cybersecurity Operations Center and I now work full time as an Analyst in the same unit, responding to cyber threats against the bank. From my time as a Summer Analyst to now, I have had the opportunity to work with multiple teams daily and learn from many talented colleagues along the way. The opportunity for continuous growth keeps me motivated and the work we do is very rewarding. These are just a few of the many reasons I'm proud to work for MUFG.
