Job Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Operations, within the Central Risk & Controls Office (CRCO), the Vice President (VP) of Strategy & Operations will help drive the implementation of the CRCO strategy and transformation initiatives. More specifically, this role will:

  • Manage all efforts to drive comprehensive and consistent definitions of workflow across all CRCO functions. This includes

    • Ensuring detailed process flows are designed

    • Desk top procedures are documented

    • Roles and responsibilities are defined

    • Technology/tools are determined to support the end to end CRCO Workflow

  • Furthermore, all of this will be accomplished in a comprehensive fashion that drives CRCO Standard Operating Procedures so that all functional elements across CRCO are documented in a consistent fashion and interdependent relationships across these functions are clearly understood.

  • Additionally, this role will be responsible for ongoing maintenance and updating of the CRCO Workflow to ensure changes in the environment are captured and documented appropriately.

  • Finally, this role will also:

    • Support the development of and maintain the CRCO Annual Strategic Plan, including key initiatives for roll out, prioritization, special initiatives (special services / transformation projects), impacts / inter-dependencies, and resourcing assessment

    • Work with Governance and Oversight and Practices, Methodology, and QA functions in CRCO to develop and update the CRCO Annual Strategic Plan with related information (e.g.: regulatory exams, key change initiatives within business units, roll out plan for risk and control execution standards

    • Develop implementation plans, as needed, for completing the CRCO Annual Strategic Plan

      Major Responsibilities:

  • Working and coordinating with CRCO functional leaders and support resources, the VP of Workflow Management will be responsible for:

    • Designing process flows for each function that clearly articulates how work “flows” through the CRCO functional areas

    • Documenting detailed Desk Top Procedures so that users clearly understand how to perform CRCO functions and external parties (IAA and Regulators) can understand how work in CRCO is performed at the functional level

    • Defining Roles & Responsibilities for each functional area in a consistent fashion with a consistent level of detail

    • Determining and inventorying the Technologies and Tools required to support the functional areas and reflecting in the Workflow (process maps and desk top procedures) where and how these tools support the functional areas and are used. 

    • Identifying and clearly articulating interdependent relationships within the CRCO Workflow as to how the different functional areas interact and partner in functional roles & responsibilities

    • Partner with the CRCO Communication and Training leads to ensure medias used to inform and educate the user communities and stakeholders are developed in an effective and factual manner.  

Qualifications

8-12 years financial industry experience with 5+ years of large project management experience and/or operations / information management experience Operational risk management experience Experience in large, complex financial system integrations – with specific financial institution merger and acquisition experience a plus. Sound working knowledge and experience using and applying best practices and techniques / methodologies in a structured project environment Strong data management, data analysis, process mapping, process analysis, data collection, process modeling, and facilitation techniques Proven experience applying project management and process improvement best practice techniques and tools on large scale projects to deliver for clients Strong quantitative and qualitative skills; detail oriented with ability to see the big picture Effective team player (strong team spirit) with strong presentation, facilitation, consulting, and communication skills; ability to effectively work at a high level and a detailed level 4 year university degree, MBA or CPA a plus Previous top management consulting experience a plus Six Sigma and LEAN certification desired Project Management experience – PMP certification desired Location: TBD
