Summary:
Support the Credit Division of the Americas as part of a team responsible for a portfolio of companies in the leveraged finance area. They will be responsible for maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the companies in their portfolio and staying current on industry and regulatory developments. The candidate is expected to monitor and report on a portfolio of middle market and large corporate leveraged loans highlighting issues, performance metrics, credit risks, exposure concentrations and updating assigned risk ratings, on a timely basis. Strong modelling skills and written and verbal communications skills are critical.

Accountabilities:
Active portfolio management of designated customers:
- Responsible for the management of a loan portfolio of leveraged finance credits.
- Monitor assigned credits; stay current on company and industry issues; complete regularly scheduled reviews and determine accurate ratings.
- Coordinate and communicate critical account information independently and directly to various related parties including the Business Line, product groups and credit divisions.
- Participate in special assignments and projects as required.
- Prepare quarterly credit reviews including written assessment and financial analysis.
- Update financial projection models as necessary to reflect current view of credit trajectory.
- Work with the Business Line on amendments and incremental credit requests to identify and mitigate structural and other risks.
- Advise the Business Line on credit risk issues/terms and conditions to create the best possible. transaction, focusing on the risk/return dynamic and on minimizing potential credit costs.
- Ensure compliance with external regulatory/internal policy and procedural requirements.
- Participate in ad-hoc policy meetings to enhance organization wide credit risk framework.
Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in a financial institution in a credit underwriting or credit risk function.
- Knowledge of leveraged finance credit analysis, credit underwriting and credit risk management.
- In depth knowledge of loan structures, loan documentation and analyzing corporate credits.
- Experienced in underwriting and/or monitoring large corporate and middle market leveraged loans.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
- Understanding of the issues related to the regulatory environment (FRB, OCC, FDIC).
- Good computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good verbal and written communications skills.

Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- CFA or work towards it is an asset
- Completion of formal credit-training program at money center bank is an asset
